Ella Jet and Future Soul

Ella Jet and Future Soul wants to bring out the strongest and inner-most human emotions through their music. With passion, through heartbreak, comes lyrically driven songs that have a deeper meaning backed by a unique soulful groove. Constantly pushing their limits, you will not find them boxed in by musical or societal standards. Their overall theme of love will leave you recharged, connected to your higher self, and longing for more.

Ella Jet Vessenmeyer has been a fixture on Tampa Bay’s music scene ever since she was 12 years old, and performing in front of studio audiences at age 9. In 2014, at just 16, she was selected into the prestigious Grammy Museum’s Music Revolution Project at Ruth Eckerd Hall which landed her opening slots for We The Kings, Emily Kinney, In The Valley Below and Never Shout Never.

In December of 2016, she began to experiment with a new sound and formed her own band appropriately called FUTURE SOUL. The new sound combines old school soul with a new school vibe. It blends progressive blues and rock n’ roll, a little taste of jazz, some hip-hop grooves, all mixed into a melting pot of a enigmatic sound. The band doesn’t sound like anyone else on the music scene and their live performances have matured into something that is felt as much as it is heard.

Like the music of John Lennon, the music is raw and very personal, fragile yet and intense. Dillon Reeder handles the back-beat on drums, Levi Foe is beside him on bass and vocals, Zach West provides sweet melodies on the keys and vocals, Kevin Mendel rocks the lead guitar, and Ella Jet is the center of it all on rhythm guitar and lead vocals.

Since forming, they have been performing non-stop with slots at Gasparilla Music Fest, Orange Blossom Jamboree, Hometeam New Years Rally, Suwannee Rising and direct support for legendary acts such as Alessia Cara, Warren Hayes’ last waltz tour, Norah Jones, Jackson Browne, Brit Floyd and The Main Squeeze.

Ella Jet’s debut EP “Black Wave Diary” was released in 2018 and can be found at: http://smarturl.it/BlackWaveDiary. The songs reflect heavy lyrical subject matter such as teenage pain, addiction, abandonment and family dysfunction.

Ann Wilson of Heart

If there was anyone in the world that I could choose to share music and play guitar for one day, it would be Ann Wilson.  What a privilege to have her voice as part of my life.

I first heard Ann Wilsons voice was on an AM Radio in the late 70s that I had attached to my bike.  It was summer and I was an eleven year old girl that loved music and took it wherever I could go.  I rode my bike to the neighborhood pool almost everyday and I could unhook the radio from my handlebars and bring it to the pool with me.  On the way home I heard Barracuda for the first time.  I wanted to hear more and had to wait to hear it again the next time on the radio.

In 1980 the destiny had other plans for me as I stood in line for three hours one day waiting to get concert tickets for Billy Joel at a local music store.  Standing in line behind me was a friendly guy that couldn’t believe the line was so long, but the reason is that three concerts tickets had gone on sale that morning so the line was ridiculous.  He asked mew home I was going to see and I told him and he told me he was going to see Heart.

I had money for three tickets for myself and three friends and two hours in line, the Billy Joel concert had sold out.  I immediately took the money and bought three tickets for Heart.  If my friends didn’t want to go, then Im sure I could sell the tickets to someone else.  Right then and there was the beginning of a lifelong love for Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart and their music.

Others raise their heads above the mountain tops, while their souls cling to the dark walls of caves Eliminate something superfluous from your life. Break a habit. Do something that makes you feel insecure. Carry out an action with complete attention and intensity as if it were your last The rich substance of the Universe is yours to do with as you wish. Why settle for so little in life when you can have so much, just be daring to be different in your thinking.

Only a mediocre person is always at his best

You cannot cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water. Do not let yourself indulge in vain wishes. Only a mediocre person is always at his best. Believing is one thing, doing another.

In times of stress, be bold and valiant. Your self-beliefs either support or undermine you. Stop freewheeling, get into gear, and do something with your life. There are so many avenues to explore, so why not explore them? Never be afraid to step into the unknown, into the new. Do it fearlessly, always expecting the very best as you do so. If you are not fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm. To think is easy. To act is difficult.

To act as one thinks is the most difficult of all. Until you try, you do not know what you cannot do. You cannot pick cherries with your back to the tree. I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something I can do. An objective without a plan is a dream. If you do not do it excellently, do not do it at all. Because if it is not excellent, it will not be profitable or fun, and if you are not in business for fun or profit, what the hell are you doing there?

Madame X Makes her Mark

The Manifesto for Madame X is what Madonna has always been, and has become through the years for one reason or another.

Through the years that became decades to me there is a woman that has been in my life since my late teens. Early on I found her on the radio, MTV, the club dance floor, the movie theatre, etc. and now the slightest bit of news shows up about her in my Google stories. She’s IS an innovative force of nature in the music industry and is the ever beautiful Madonna.

Begin difficult things while they are easy.

very man takes the limits of his own field of vision, for the limits of the world. Do not compromise yourself. You are all you have got. The difference between doers and dreamers is that the latter wait for the mood before taking action while the former create the mood by acting. Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life, but define yourself. Your self-beliefs either support or undermine you.

People are not remembered by how few times they fail but by how often they succeed. Every wrong step is another step forward. First we form habits, then they form us. Conquer your bad habits, or they will eventually conquer you. Quit now, you will never make it. If you disregard this advice, you will be halfway there.
